Completely underwhelmed by this book. NPH is a delight on stage and screen and in interviews but really isn't much of a writer. It's awfully gossipy, sadly shallow, and feels largely like a list of accomplishments rather than a cohesive story of his life. The choose your own adventure bit got tired pretty quickly, too. Bummer.

There was a lot of funny things in this book. If you're a NPH fan, you will enjoy this book.

Love this gimmick, it's really fun. Heart warming read.

I had to read this book for a book report and boy was I ecstatic to have pulled the lucky straw. I honestly expect nothing less out of NPH simply because he is such an entertaining guy. I did read this book a few times through. The first two times I chose my own adventure through the story and it surprisingly held my attention really well. The last time I read every single page simply because I didn’t want to miss a single thing. If you want to read a fun biography definitely check out this book!

Solidly enjoyable.

Loved it! I can see how people might despise the format, but I thought it was a work of minor genius. He appealed to exactly the type of people whose imaginations would be captured by his story. And if you followed the choose your own format, you still managed to read most of the chapters without taking anything away from the storytelling. Structured so well that it felt sequential no matter which way you veered. I hope that NPH is as funny and engaging and just jerky enough as he seems in the book. The magic tricks and recipes added just the right touch. I've made the bolognese three times, it's good stuff BTW.

This was such a fun book to read. Like I've said before I'm not much for biographies so they need to have some kind of gimmick for me to read them. Most of them have been in graphic novel form and this one is a Choose your own autobiography form. I didn't do the skipping around, just read straight through. A lot of interesting information about NPH and I think his "better-half" (as he says) is about the cutest man ever. Loved it.
