A great show but nothing about the real man behind the curtain. It read as fiction or based on a true story. Very entertaining with no intimacy. What could have been a great read instead was meh.
This was an absolute delight to read! I really enjoyed NPH's writing style, the stories he told, and the fun of the Choose your own adventure format.
I love NPH. Now I need to rewatch Dr. Horrible and cry.
In just one night, I finished my first read through/first life. In one word: magic. No, seriously. Keep a deck handy! I look forward to reading this again, learning more about a charming man, and discovering more hidden humour within its pages.
Only this man could get away with a concept like this. NPH's choose your own autobiography is just what I expected. Neil is not the tabloidy gossipy type, (and so many celebs these days put out just those kind of tell alls) I knew his would be different. Funny, sweet, awkward, but 100% terrific. He is, once again, the ultimate host, guiding you cheerfully along his life story. Dazzling you with magic, making you laugh out loud or smile with delight. In other words, being NPH. Just lovely!
Love love love NPH. This book was witty, interesting and surprisingly sweet and touching. I had no idea NPH had done so much. I adore him even more after reading this book!

NPH is such a delight. He's funny, he's humble, he's star-struck, he's grateful. I loved everything about this book, but my favorite is the story of his 40th birthday.
