Nov9. Back in February on a start of "2020 sucks lets have random mail to cheer up" (o remember what that was like before anything really ramped up? Remember what February was like?) I got on a couple subscription box kicks. One being from the bookworm box. This was the first one sent to me ... and I was being very down about it because... well.. Romances with a huge age difference are gross. They are very offputting to me and I don't understand it besides others wanting the gross. I think it comes off as sleazy and weird. There's usually a reason someone is scoping out someone so much younger to take advantage of being young, naive, and inexperienced. Maybe sometimes there's a smidge of that going on, but squeaks by. But this has a 17 year age gap. Legit like almost a whole other adult between them. And it came off as really gross to me and I just tucked it away. Then went ok fuck already bought it, it's a special edition, it's so pretty, we'll give it a shot and then can hate it appropriately as needed.
I mean look at how pretty it is
(not my pic) Bookworm Box
And it wasn't that horrible. I appreciate that it was very much pointed out about the age difference, that it wasn't the older person being the lecher and seeking out, and even having separation and choosing to come back together.
Looking back to April, I just associate this book so much with WFH all day, working in bed, having a 'nope using leave, let's just read and ignore everything today.'
Solid alright.

The steam in this book was...steamy. There was something about this story that made me skim the book.
I have read a lot of Karina Halle’s books, but this one is my new favorite!! The storyline and characters were so well developed, and the emotions were raw and felt through the page. I love that there was angst, but no melodrama. Absolutely cannot wait time see if Luciano gets his own book too!
probably the best age gap romance i've ever read, precisely because their connection and personalities were written in such a way that their age didn't factor into their respective maturity or their relationship at all besides the self conscious/ outside response aspect! also, apart from the trope and genre of this book, thalia and alejo are endearing, stubborn, and their love story is heart wrenchingly beautiful!

this book was so awesome and funny and spiceeeeyy
very very tiny spoiler that won’t impact your read at all:
just the way things played out for the happily ending kind of annoyed me like how Thalia bounced back and forth between clubs but i LOVED the ending and Alejo’s reaction to the news they get at the very end (love LOVE LOVE IT AND HIM) it’s amazing.
