The chemistry didn’t feel genuine between the characters and their affair felt fraught in all the worst ways
I got this in my Bookworm Box and it’s just not my style and I wasn’t really interested.

Nice and light. Super cute couple.
Wow. This is a surprise read for me. I never would have imagined that I will like it more than I expected it to be. This is filled with emotion, angst, lust, passion, and romance. I felt Thalia's pain. I have highlighted many lines here but there's this one line that really got me.
I'm not a sports fan and just skim the sports part of the books cause I don't understand it. However, this book made me read those match scenes. I don't feel intimidated with the terms used and honestly make me feel excited about what will happen next.
As a romance reader, I can definitely tell this is well written. I'm now interested to check out Karina Halle's other works.
Sometimes I don't feel like I'm really participating in life. Like it's just something that's happening to me but I'm not happening to it. Like I'm a spectator.

"The Forbidden Man" (originally titled "The Younger Man") is one of my favorite Karina Halle books yet, and it kept me turning the pages long past my bedtime. The story packs an emotional punch and I found myself tearing up numerous times, but there were also surprising moments of humor that made me laugh out loud when I was least expecting it. Most importantly, I adored both of the main characters, Thalia and Alejo, who were incredibly well-developed and likeable. Despite their differences, especially the significant age gap, their feelings for each other were obviously sincere, and I couldn't help but root for them to find a way to be together.
The problems Alejo and Thalia faced in their growing relationship were realistic and believable. For example, I completely understood the tough position Thalia was in after having worked so hard to build a successful career in a male-dominated field. She knew that one mistake could completely destroy everything she'd achieved, and after being burned so badly by her ex-husband, it took a lot for Thalia to be able to trust in love again. Alejo really seemed to bring out the best in her, as she brought out the best in him. I hated seeing them struggle, but it was all worth it in the end.
I would love to read a future book starring Alejo's teammate, Luciano. He was a fun secondary character in this book and a good friend to both Alejo and Thalia when they needed him the most. Also, it seemed like there might have been more to the story he briefly told about his lost love. It would be wonderful to see him happily coupled up just like Alejo and Thalia!

It was a solid romance. There was a little bit of dragging towards the end but I guess it was justified because of the nature of the topic. Sometimes I was just not invested as much as I would have like to be.
This book is good, sometimes really good and damn sexy too- hence the 3 stars. However, whilst going into this I wanted to love it I just don’t. Good things about this book, Alejo and Thalia, the plot and their relationship.
The negatives about this book- the execution, the writing, the grammar mistakes. It just felt like something was missing. I enjoyed reading this and I flew through nearly 500 pages but I also felt detached.
It’s a good book, with a very good romance and erotic scenes but in my opinion it could have been executed better. I felt my mind drifted at some points whilst reading this. It just wasn’t a book that I got completed absorbed it. A shame but I enjoyed it none the less!
(Oh and also, if you write a book about football please make sure all the football kicks/moves/rules etc are correct! It was a bit of an eye rolling moment when a penalty kick was given and the player did a free kick instead)

Longest Romance ive ever read.
To be honest it was not that good, had major expectations and it kinda disappinted me.
About 3/4 of the book some of the fights felt kinda childish and boring, i started skimming through the book at that point.
The actuall writing was good to be honest.

is was a wonderful read, emotional, sensual, passionate, a forbidden age-gap older woman/younger man sports read, it was beautifully written and very immersive, I loved it!
Their connection is just so beautiful and perfect, you could feel their bond and their relationship growing, and boy was I rooting for them to have their happy ending. But life frowns on such age gap relationships, especially when the woman is the older one, and they had a lot to get through, lots of struggles and upheavals
