I loved it. I abso-freaking-lutely loved it.
I’m gonna go into the why’s in a sec, first I gotta say that I don’t wanna sell it as this perfect book, this unicorn you absolutely have to go see(in this case read). This one is a case of to "each their own".
Sometimes you read something and you have no bloody idea how or why but you are gripped, and it touches you and you think about it often in the aftermath of reading it.
That’s this book for me. Maybe it’s because I’m familiar with the world in which everything took place (I live in Manchester UK, I’m pretty familiar with European football, the teams, players etc- I love Spain, I speak Spanish... need I go on? - you get the point). But aside from all other reasons, this book really took hold of my attention and I gotta admit it tugged at my feelings because it had heart.
- In this new year I’m here for a different kind of alpha male, the one who is in touch with his feelings, who will say “I love you and I know you love me too so let’s work it out”. The one who doesn’t play mind games or feels the need to retaliate in order to polish his bruised ego. The one who is relentless when he sets his sight on HER (that mythical being that gets all the awesome book boyfriends we pine after *sighs* ). The one who is respectful, protective but not controlling and the one who wears his heart on his sleeve and it doesn’t make him cheesy or weak. - you guessed it btw- a good example that meets all those qualities is Alejo.
Now, is he perfect? No, he’s immature and impulsive but he’s not a jackass

I absolutely hated the heorine. SPOILERS COMING: she had zero backbone. her mom and best friend were horrible to her saying to her she should have divorced her husband who CHEATED ON HER. then she is hot and cold with alejo the entire book. literally happy one minute, issue the next minue then happy again then sad again. then SHE GOES BACK TO WORK AT THE CLUB WEHRE HER EX HUSBAND IS THE MANAGER. couldnt finish the book after that. complete idiot and annoying af
This author is hit or miss with me. I was not in the mood for some of this ridiculousness. This is a ridiculous fantasy book of every cliched 40+ year old woman. I didn’t buy it. Not because of the age difference, but because of the insta love and extreme lack of professionalism. An adult professional woman does not act like this.
im sorry, i wish id love this more, i just cant stand either of our main characters....
2.5 stars
I was very excited about this book , i like a romance with an older female lead but unfortunately this was not the best for me. The story started out great but the characters were a bit tortured and the book dragged because of it, the romance wasn't fun anymore and it didn't hold my attention.
tags: heroine older than the love interest, sports romance featuring football, spanish boy, smut
content warning: a lot of angst but like not the good kind

3.75⭐️.
This gets a higher rating than most because I truly enjoyed the characters. I related to the career driven Thalia more than most other characters in romance novels. This was a lot of fun and I am happy that I read it. The reason this did not get a 3⭐️ is because the main love interest is a soccer player. My significant other is really into soccer; so, I was a bit biased when reading, because it reminded me of of him.

Oh boy. This book will give you the feels. It is super sexy, super emotional, and super sexy ( whoops, already said that one). I was mildly nervous I would not like it, as a 35 year old I was wary about a love story about a 24 year old and someone near my age, but Alejo won me over. Highly recommended!
