I freaking love this book! The relationship was engaging from the start. I loved both the characters. I’m a fan of age gap romances but this is my first with an older female lead. Highly recommend.

4.5 stars! I loved this romance!

I have decided to split this review into two parts: one that discusses what I enjoyed and the other about the things I didn't or would like to have seen. This review will be written in dot points for easy consumption.

What I liked:

- I enjoyed the author's writing style. It was engaging and fun to read.

- I really loved the characters and how different they were from each other.

- Both characters are at different stages in their lives, yet their connection was undeniable.

- I liked the way the relationship developed overtime. I was really rooting for them.

- I enjoyed the plot of this story and how the conflict added to the overall story. I do think more could have been added to the plot, however I still enjoyed what was given to me as a reader.

- I really enjoyed the sexier scenes in this novel (especially the first one- it’s one of my favourite smutty scenes that I have read in new adult romance).

- I loved the setting in this story. Spain sounded amazing and I wished they were more travelling and exploring aspects within the story.

What I didn’t like:

- I would have liked the heroine to go through more personal growth and challenges. I think it would have been a great story if there was also an emphasis on healing oneself on their own. While I do think the romantic relationship was important and enjoyable, I think the romance could have developed slowly as the heroine started to learn to live for herself and then start to open herself at love once again.

- I think this book could have been much shorter and some scenes could have been cut down.

- I wished there was more sexier scenes and tension between the characters. While there is some in the story, a little more wont hurt. :)

Overall, I will be picking up more books from this author and highly recommend this novel if you love travel and romance in your books.

I really enjoyed the first half of this book. Even though Im not huge on sports it was still fun to read. Sadly it went down hill from the middle for me. Felt like the second half was really long and I lost interest in the story. I did finish the book after skimming a few chapters.

I just thought that it was bull shit that she was the bad guy for breaking off their relationship when it was either she breaks it off or she quits her job- and let's be honest, Alejo was NEVER going to quit because it's always the woman making the sacrifices. In the beginning, she's all big on women having to work harder- which is true- but in the end she chooses love over her CAREER? Bitch, I would have made him choose between me and quitting HIS job, and I bet he would have chosen his job. This book was just a disappointment. The writing was good in the beginning, but towards the middle and the end, I was catching punctuation errors that were so obvious, that I just couldn't enjoy the book anymore.

It was perplexing how many bad choices the h made in this book and how much more centered and mature the H was even though he was the younger man. She spent the entire time wishy-washy, in her head, while he was the steadfast (albeit greedy, want it all attitude) that she ping-ponged around.

I did like the sports aspect; I have a lot of appreciation for athletes and the training and dedication they put towards their sport.
