I enjoyed the story. I have a hard time when there is another language and I have to use translate to figure out what they are saying.. Takes away from the story for me.

Oh My Alejo!
He stole my heart just like he did to Thalia.
Author Karina Halle's best book to date.
It is full of love, finding oneself, seeing the world with a new view and never wanting to go back to what you saw in the past.
I loved the characters, the development, the forbidden and just everything this book delivered.
This book gave me such feels.
I got goosebumps, tingles and my heart soared with soo much love.
True love can be found whether you are the older woman & the younger man as long as you fight for it and are ready to accept any challenge or obstacle that comes your way.
This book does it all!
A Top 2019 Must Read book!

Ah, the beauty of Karina's writing! How well she knows to make me soar by loving her characters and at the same time make me travel through the world in both known and unknown places! Her new book takes place in Spain, a country I had the luck to visit so the Spanish were familiar to me.
The story follows Thalia, a 40 years old woman who has just gotten out of a hard divorce and desperately tries to find a new job. When the opportunity is given to work for Real Madrid, she will take it.
And meet Alejo, a man younger than her but very very handsome. (AND HAWWWTT)
As their passion for each other rises, so do their problems. The age gap, their insecurities even the pressure by the team.
I loved this story. There's always something very realistic in Karina Halle's characters. They are all so well written and fleshed out like real people, who struggle and make wrong choices, who love and sometimes wager their love in order to overcome difficulties. I also loved the ending, which was very sweet and hopeful.
Another thing that I knew would happen (from the teasers) was the cameo appearances of Mateo and Vera from "Love in English" (my very first Karina Halle book and one of my top of all her published works). They were so funny and well together and they both supported Thalia, in their own ways.
By this point, I'll just keep waiting for more deliciousness by Karina Halle! She is amazing and she proves it every time!
(I also keep hoping that she will visit my city in Greece because she looves teasing her readers with descriptions of my country!)

Annoying is the best word I can think of to describe this story. Also, the excessive lack of editing made me cringe.
fast-paced
I enjoyed this book but didn’t love it. The feelings, especially the mmc felt a little too Insta-love for my liking. I realize that they couldn’t be out doing couple things, but I think it would’ve helped the relationship be more believable if the reader saw more together time, outside of the bedroom. I also didn’t love the fmc actions, felt immature for her age.
It was also pretty long. Honestly I skimmed/skipped most of the soccer scenes and it was still long, especially given that it covered less than a year of time.
Overall though I did like this book.

I love that this is a story about an older woman finding her way after her life blows up. There is so much about Thalia that is relatable. She thought she'd found her happily ever after and then it went sideways. She lost her marriage. She lost her job and she was totally raked through the mud by the media. She is vilified for standing up to a man that she found out was cheating on her. She vows to never mix work with relationship again and moves to another country.
Alejo is about 16 years younger and a bit of a reckless player (on the pitch). From the moment they meet, there are sparks. Thalia is the new PT working with Alejo's team. So their relationship was a no no from the start.
The steam is hot in this book. The steam room scene is really HOT. The sexy times are well done. The relationship develops in a realistic way and I enjoyed the book. There were a couple of things that were a little iffy for me but overall its a good story.
