This was so steamy! I mean, WOW! But also very emotional. At one point at the end I definitely had tears running down my face. As an older woman who has always been attracted to younger men, this story was one I was interested in right away. And it is a big part of the story, of course, everyone thinks Thalia is too old for Alejo, except for him. He knows that they are right for each other. As with most of the books I've read by this author so far, the story has lots of steamy sexy scenes all throughout. Not just a couple times, not just the first time and then at the end when all is well, we get to enjoy many of the couples trysts. Personally, I like that in a good romance novel, especially when they're written as well as Halle does. But the age difference isn't really all that makes him hot, I mean, he's a professional soccer. player, what more do you need? There's more to the story than just the romance even though, Thalia has to deal with friends, old and new, and who really is a friend, and who isn't. She's also trying to figure out just who she is and what she wants in life, making this a really great story.

4.5 Estrellas de Amor
Before I tell you how much I love this story, let me tell you that I’ve met the love of my life in Valencia where we fell in love not only with the city but we each other and still doing it. I always say I wanna go back and live my retirement life there( it’s still a long way by then

Thalia and Alejo are so epic. This is an age gap romance at it’s finest. Thalia is 40 years old, a sports physiotherapist, is recently divorced and trying to move on with her life. He ex is Manchester United’s head coach.
When she finds out she is hired with Real Madrid, she is off to Spain to be the new head physiotherapist for the team. She is focused on trudging forward and living for herself and not in the shadow of her cheating ex-husband.
As she begins to meet the team, she introduced to Alejo. Star forward of Real Madrid. Alejo is 23, but a super old soul. From the minute they vast their gaze on each other, you can feel the chemistry. Karina Halle does an incredible job in building this romance. It’s not insta love. While we get to see the attraction building, we also see the internal struggle for Thalia and Alejo. There are consequences to them having a relationship. Oh…but doesn’t it make it that much steamier. It’s forbidden. My FAVORITE.
This was a truly beautiful and heart soaring romance. It was the perfect reread.

It is so exciting to wrap up a year of reviewing with Karina’s latest and one of her greatest. Karina is so good at an emotionally, heartwrenching, age-gap romance.

First book of the year and off to a good start.
I'm glad Karina did not shy away from Thalia's inability to conceive because of her age and potential fertility issues. And while only briefly discussed in the epilogue, I appreciated that they chose to adopt rather than the novel ending with her conceiving naturally.
I love sports romances and loved the forbidden dynamic of a player falling for the team's physical therapist. I also loved how the romance developed.
Karina Halle is a newer author for me and I'm looking forward to delving into her backlist.
Spoiler
While not normally a fan of age-gap romances, I really liked the dynamic between Thalia and Alejo, and that topics relevant to a large age difference (specifically between an older woman and younger man -- i.e. stereotypes, fertility, beauty standards for women as we age, career vs love, getting over a divorce, etc...) were addressed.I'm glad Karina did not shy away from Thalia's inability to conceive because of her age and potential fertility issues. Omg so amazing! I just absolutely fell in love with the writing and the plot of this book. I loved the age gap, sports romance and of course the forbidden romance. This was phenomenal with all the love, passion and friendships that was in this book. I can’t believe I haven’t read this books until now. Please give this a go! One of my new favorites out there.
