I usually don't like celebrity romances with the paparazzi/tabloid plot/trial that cause a third act breakup but I really enjoyed this book. Jason was sooooo sweet and patient with Sloane, it was so cute. I had been wanting her story since The Friend Zone and glad she got her happy ever after. I loved that each chapter started with a song. I loved this author's take on grief. Those grieving moments were done in a beautiful way.

The Happy Ever After Playlist was exactly what I expect from an Abby Jimenez book - funny, emotional, and full of chemistry.

I loved Sloan in The Friend Zone, so returning to her story and seeing her get the happy ending she deserves made me so happy! She and Jason have amazing chemistry, and I loved reading about them and their relationship. I also loved seeing Kristen through Sloan’s eyes, and their friendship was one of my favorite aspects of the book.

This book did a great job of showing Sloan’s grief and depression, and it also did a great job of showing her growth and rediscovery of her self after loss. This was my third Abby Jimenez book, so I knew what kind of emotional turmoil I was going to be in for, and as usual it all felt grounded in reality.

There are a couple reasons this wasn’t a five star book for me. I think that Jason and Sloan had a bit of an unhealthy communication style, and while it improved throughout the book I still think that a lot of their earlier issues could have been solved with a better timed conversation. I also didn’t love the final conflict of the book, but I think it was all resolved well.

I will definitely be reading more of Abby’s backlist, and her future releases! 4 stars.

my first abby Jimenez book! I really enjoyed this book, especially as a kick off for a summer of romance books! I really loved how they handled the grief aspect, while not like. bogging it down and feeling like "should she really be dating yet". Jason was an amazing love interest and he enamored me pretty quickly. I will say I felt like the part where Sloan decides to go on tour with Jason after all felt rushed, and like a conversation was cut out and replaced by "they had a conversation" that I would've really liked to see.

overall though, I enjoyed this book, and will DEFINITELY be returning to abby as an author. the way she writes romance is really good.

It was a good book, the story had me on my toes at the end, but. It doesn’t feel like an Abby book. I dunno the tone is different, and I felt like it was a lot less tied together like her latest books have been. Kinda disjointed. It also started in one story, and we ended almost completely somewhere else. I still liked the story, but it wasnt what I was expecting based on her other books. And (this is a personal thing I’m sure) I just struggled to connect to this couple, there was a lot going on, and some things went unaddressed, and boundaries were pushed in a way that bothered me.
