There isn't one wholly good character in this book. Everyone in it is so completely flawed or straights out evil. All doing each other bad. Yet it is so intriguing. Read this book super fast because I just needed to know what horrible thing they were doing to each other.

This book is a masterpiece.
I don't know how Brontë did it, but she managed to make the characters profoundly unlikeable and awful while still allowing space for you to root for them. It is a stunning and powerful portrait of trauma, abuse, and loss–themes that seem far ahead of its time!
The structure of the novel–told as a story through the housekeeper Ellen "Nelly" Dean is a compelling rhetorical device because we as the reader, Lockwood as the listener, and even Nelly herself are all on the outside looking in. And yet there is an intimacy and a depth that can only be ascertained through this device.
I am completely floored by this novel, everyone should read it.

For all the jokes i made abt this in my updates i have to say this book is amazing. The portrayal of the bitter love between catherine and heathcliff which then burdens the 2nd generation and examples heathcliffs tyranny is just so well told.
In my opinion the best way to describe heathcliff and catherine is that heathcliff burned the world for her, whilst she burned him as the action would make his ashes hers.
Poor isabella and edgar who were truly sweet people just drawn into chaos by the hurricane of the wuthering heights lovers and the children who were used in an ultimatley vain power struggle of heathcliff's.
Theres just so much that can be sais for this book but i loved at the end the imagining of heathcliff and catherines spirits rambling the moors together, whilst i like to think edgar witnesses cathy and haretons ultimate happiness at the Grange is just such a well rounded ending to such a bitter battle of a book.
