Thought it was predictable but still had twist that I wasn't expecting. I cried and then continued to cry.

Slow in the beginning but picked up about halfway through, I was also a little disappointed in the character development. Felt like Jodi Picoult Lite.

Kristin Hannah knows how to write about strong women and emotions. The hopes of youth, the frustrating need to do what is right, and selflessness, drive the main character into a future that seemed predestined. The contrast and conflict between the main character and the mother of her best friend is heart wrenching, while relatable. Your heart is pulled and torn while you hope tragedy will finally fade.
