While this book had potential -- and my attention -- in the first third, it went off the rails shortly afterward, and I couldn't be bothered to finish it. Once the initial mystery was lost and the protagonists left the tower on their adventure, the story completely lost my interest. Also, the romance between the Dragon and Agnieszka, whom he had abducted, was icky.

Great fairy tale fantasy book.
The story feels like a retelling of a fairy tale. It is rich with mystery and magic. The story is fast paced. I enjoyed the character development (both major and minor characters). I would recommend this to the lovers of fairytales and myths.

non do cinque stelline per due motivi principali:
la trama è molto confusionaria, e soprattutto all'inizio sembra mancare un filo logico che lega i vari elementi.
l'altro è probabilmente un mio limite, ma durante i passi in venivano descritte le distanze non riuscivo a orientarmi per niente: da quanto ho capito la torre del Drago è piuttosto isolata da tutto e tutti, ma da lì si riescono a osservare le persone sulle montagne e anzi si riesce a distinguerle piuttosto bene??
la storia d'amore era un po' scontata e un filo instalove, ma alla fine non mi ha neanche troppo infastidito visto che l'elemento romantico compare molto poco.
ottimo lo stile di scrittura.
nel complesso un perfetto stand alone fantasy con atmosfere un po' dark (e poi la magia botanica >>>>).
