I really enjoyed this one. It flipped between modern day with Will & Sarah & when Amanda & Evelyn we’re just starting out in the 70’s.

Best book in the series so far. Amazing connections and suspense.

Karin Slaughter is a genius, that is all.
dark emotional hopeful informative tense fast-paced

Waited for that Jane Austen reference for 400 pages and finally got it. Five stars.

3 1/2 Stars - probably not a fair judge, since I read this as a stand-alone and jumped into the middle of the series. The first 1/3 was fast paced, then it grew a bit tedious. I liked the multiple time lines, unlike several reviewers. I think I’d like to read the first few so that I felt more invested in these relationships and what the history was all about.

This was my first book by international bestseller Karin Slaughter and the book’s description grabbed me right away. It has crime spanning 20 years, a mysterious connection between the two main characters and a dash of a love story thrown in. While the book was a good read and I recommend it, it wasn’t the masterpiece it has been called by other reviewers.
