A book that gives a new meaning to the word love. Fallen is fantastic if you like angels, love, and mystery.

I loved this series. The storyline is so good and reminds me of why I really love fantasy writing.

I just listened to this book (I read it a long time ago but forgot about it, and am now going to actually write a review), and read a few reviews, and I feel the need to say a few things.
1. This is not the best book ever, I agree, but it is not all bad. There are a lot of people leaving hateful reviews, but they all seem to be adults, and they all seem really stuck up and quick to judge. so, if you are not spiteful and are willing to give this book a chance, I hope you do.
2. This is a YA book. It is not a requirement that writing and plot is deep and subliminally indescribable, I repeat it is a YA book. There are some YA books that do have deep meanings or useful lessons, but not all books do that; there are many books whose purpose is to entertain not educate. and this book does that. Extreme feminists may not agree with this, but fantasy-romance lovers surely will. Star-crossed lover, an enduring, eternal love? What romantic's interest wouldn't be piqued?
3. I think I had a third point, but, well, now I've forgotten. Just give this book a chance. If you like fantasy, romance, angels, and eternal love with conflict, give this book a chance. Especially if you are a teen. I don't know about accuracy because I don't know much about bible stories and reform school, but this book does have romance and and hot guys.
4. As for a slow plot, try to keep in mind that this story spans several books that ARE connected. Think of the books as connected, it makes sense that the conflict in this book is not very big or cataclysmic, the story is just warming up. Be prepared for a lot of exposition, but hang on, there is more information to be given, answers to be revealed, conflict to overcome and a happily ever after to hope for.

can someone explain to me why this is so popular? this is twilight 2.0 although better written. Nonetheless i realy dont see the apeal of a teenage girl mooning over the hard edged "ach so handsome boy" who acts super tough but is so, soo sweet to her. yummi...
i get that im not the target audience for this but honestly i think books like these are an insult to girls and woman in generall.

The more I think back about this book, the less I like it. There were too many things that struck me afterwards as being annoying. Like, for instance, the school Luce attends is meant to have 80 students, yet only around 10 are ever mentioned. And no one else's back story as to how they came to be in the school was explained despite probably being interesting. Probably more interesting than Luce whining on about Daniel for hundreds of pages anyway.

SpoilerToo many things are left unexplained, also, like Daniel and Gabbe's conversation during the party, or Trevor and Todd's deaths, or who the hell turned up for the angels and demons to pretend to be their families at Parent's Day, and yes, I realise this is a series of books, not a stand-alone, but so many things were left out that it was hard to keep track of things that were happening or their reasons for happening.

It threw me off that Luce was so obsessed with Daniel and kept referencing the last boy she'd been obsessed with, the one that ended up dead. Yet through Luce's obsession, Penn kept encouraging her despite Penn knowing all about the last obsession and how wrong it went, having read Luce's file.

Daniel's hot and cold attitude didn't help anything at all, and ended up being annoying and unhealthy rather than charming or attractive. The writing wasn't utterly terrible, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't help but feel the whole creepiness of the school and the possible craziness of the minor characters were underused to make way for Luce's freaky stalker behaviour and Daniel acting like he was bipolar. I liked Cam, I liked Ariane, and there needed to be more Roland, because seriously anything would be better than Luce complaining or more of Daniel treating Luce like something he'd stepped in. Not the greatest love story elements. Luce really needed to grow a pair.

It's Luce's first day at a new school, she has already been striped of her cell phone, flipped off by a cute boy and attacked by a girl and her meatloaf can it get any worse? It can.

I was very excited to get this book. You can ask my husband, when I opened the package there was even some squeeing involved. So I honestly wanted to like it, hell I wanted to love it. It just didn't happen though.
The premise was great. The setting was good. I can relate to the sweltering southern heat. It was the characters and the pace of the story that ruined it for me.

Luce was annoying and for lack of a better word term, dumb. Sure she has some problems but her actions were totally unbelievable to me. She was stocking the male in the book. They were supposed to have this amazing bond that drew them together but I never saw it! There were times I felt like I was missing something because it wasn't explained and wasn't there at all. I felt totally unconnected with these characters.

On top of all that the pace was slooow. The story didn't pick up until about 250 pages into it. We could do without a lot of those pages in the beginning. I will stop here. I don't like doing negative reviews. I honestly wanted to love this but Kate has a long way to go before I could love her work. I will probably still give the squeal a chance. And I think you all should still give Fallen a chance. This is only my opinion and I seem to be the only person so far that hasn't loved it.

Just by reading the summary, the title and the prologue you can pretty much guess what it's about. So why does it take 300 pages to get to the point. All she did the beginning two thirds of the book was whine. People think I killed my ex boyfriend, but I didnt. Shadows did. I want Daniel and he wants me too, hes just playing hard to get. I'm not gonna go after the boy who's been nothing but nice to me cause he must be evil. All she talks about is boys boys boys and how her life is so unfair.
Then when it finally gets to the main point there is like no climax at all. You don't get to witness the battle, and apparently the soldiers are shiny, sparkly things. I mean really who would be frightened by things that glitter. It's like Edward Cullen all over again. Yeah I know I looked like I just bathed myself in glitter Bella, but I'm actually a ferocious animal that wants to eat you. Be afraid, be very afraid. Gr.
