Romance, intrigue, drama, humor, and movie making, if you haven’t already picked up From Twinkle with Love just from that sentence, then what are you waiting for?! Twinkle has two dreams; to become a famous and impactful director, and for Neil Roy to acknowledge her existence and then fall in love with her. So when Neil’s twin brother Sahil approaches her about making a movie together, Twinkle realizes that maybe both of her dreams could come true! But as the movie making progresses, Twinkle finds herself having feelings for the wrong person, and just when it seemed like Neil had noticed her! This book is exactly what a contemporary YA romance novel should be. It has great character development with a totally original story, that provides great entertainment, while still giving exposure to greater world issues. Twinkle is very relatable, and while her drama sometimes feels a little unrealistic, it only adds to the story. I was really impressed by how satisfying the story was, as I am usually left wanting more after a standalone. It takes a lot of talent to effectively wrap up a story and still have it end with a bang. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute contemporary and a great summer read!

I'm officially a stan of Menon. Her stories have this feel good atmostphere without feeling shallow and I am weak for it.

I enjoyed this sweet, humorous romance by the author of When Dimple Met Rishi. The story is told through letters to women film directors. Twinkle goes through many emotions and changes during her filming of Draculass for her schools Midsummer Night Arts Festival. Maddie, her best friend, drove me crazy and Sahil was adorable. Twinkle's voice is true to teens of all races, but her Indian heritage was on full display. This is a quick read and I was hooked from the first page. I liked it even better than When Dimple Met Rishi. Give to fans of Jenny Han and Kasie West.

Twinkle , With Love came in my owl crate.
When I first read the description I was unsure weather I would like it. As soon as I cracked this book open I could not put it down , but sadly I had to because of work .

I felt like I really connect with Twinkle when I was that age. There were times in this book where I did get mad at her for how she was acting but in the long run I understood it to. But I also feel that a good writer can make you love a character be annoyed at their flaws and still understand and love them.

I really love they way the story was told it and it was really well done.

This was a cute, quick read and I'm glad I read it during the summer. I've never read Sandhya Menon before. I will say her writing style is a little different.

The reason I am giving 4 and not 5 stars is because Twinkle actually drove me nuts. Like the amount of times that she mentioned her "groundling" status drove me crazy. I felt like there were times in the story that could have been cut out because she was literally just repeating something that she had already said like 700 times elsewhere.

The book was also a little predictable and I may be so harsh because I haven't read a contemporary book in literal ages so I'm not used to the lovey dovey scene. I'm happy with the end, I did cry a lil bit I will say. I did enjoy the story line and the change up from the typical "I wanna be an actress/model/singer" to "I wanna be a movie director." This book is all about self discovery at a young age and I wish it would have been around when I was in high school.
