You Let Me In

Lucy Clarke

This was my first Lucy Clarke book so I had no preconceptions, but I love psychological thrillers and this one didn't disappoint.

Lucy's writing is very descriptive and I could just imagine the beautiful house on the clifftop with its amazing view. The story had me hooked from the beginning. The suspense had me holding my breath in places, and when the big reveal came it was a complete shock.

I am now a Lucy Clarke fan and will definitely be reading more of her books.

I found reading this very stressful!

Not at all what I was expecting. Cassie Tipp tells her story and leaves her bannk account to her neices with the warning that the money comes with faries. The very faries Cassie has seen, played with and loved all her life. The same faries she has told her psychiatrist about. The psychiatrist who has testified at her murder trial, which sets her free to continue to be insane. This story made me think of Shirly Jackson.

Loved it. Really though provoking and full of suspense.

Characters were unlikeable and the plot didn’t quite know what to do with itself. Not an enjoyable read

Great page turner, beautifully descriptive of the Cornish coast - I went right on to Rightmove!! Well thought out characters and lots of twists where you think...yes that’s them! And then hmmm maybe not.

Remind me not to read novels about writers again.
