This feels like a plug for google but there are some good takeaways that can be applied by management.
Work Rules was a immensely fascinating look into a world few people have the privilege of seeing first hand. Even for the non-HR folks among us this is an interesting and highly informative book and culture and policy from a company said to be the best place to work dozens of times.
This book took me forever to read because there's so much fascinating content in it. My only complaint - most of these strategies are not scalable DOWN to a small-mid sized company. What works for 1,000 or 10,000 or 100,000 employees doesn't always make sense for 30.

Useful, fascinating, sometimes chilling insights from Google HR.
I am sure, somewhat idealistically, that work shouldn’t be miserable, it can be energizing and exciting. This book is about how to make a work such a place from the Google HR’s perspective. A lot of cases, examples, even cases of failures. Very clear structure, tons of references I’d like to read someday, too.
I found this to be a very insightfull and informative book. I have applied to Google several times in the past and understand why it is hard to get even an interview for them. I have experienced some of the limitations at a company where Google has embraced them. On our team they only sent the developers to a Power BI course but not the other 4 people on the team. I recommend that someone could train the rest of the team. The response was we don't have time and you don't need it. Which is not true since we are responsible for testing the reports in Power BI. I liked the structure for the manager and leadership that Google has implemented. I wish other companies would consider what Google has done. This book is worth reading and I will refer to it again.
A must for every manager. Don't share it with HR though, they will do human experimentations without FDA approval.
