A Gripping, Fast-Paced Legal Thriller That Kept Me Guessing Until the End!
Fifty Fifty by Steve Cavanagh is an absolutely gripping ride from start to finish. The story centers on two sisters, Alexandria and Sofia Avellino, both accusing each other of murdering their powerful father. The twist? One of them is lying and it’s up to the courtroom (and readers!) to figure out which one.
This book moves at lightning speed, with short chapters and rotating perspectives that make it nearly impossible to put down. I had to know which sister did it. I just knew I was right… but wow, was I wrong. Cavanagh masterfully weaves red herrings, psychological insight, and legal drama into a story that kept me second-guessing my instincts the entire time.
The courtroom scenes were some of the best I’ve read: tense, smart, and totally engaging. Eddie Flynn is quickly becoming one of my favorite fictional lawyers. I’m officially a fan of the series and can’t wait to dive into more.
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC. I’m so glad I got the chance to read this!

Can’t go wrong with these Eddie Flynn books. Bit predictable if even I can guess it but still a good ride

Legal thriller in which two sisters are accusing each other of the murder of their father. I haven't read a lot of legal thrillers and have limited law knowledge, but I really enjoyed it. I did not read the prior books in the series, but will look into other books by Steve Cavanaugh.

Solid 4 because it made me want to read the rest of the Eddie Flynn series. The twists weren't crazy and I knew who the killer was but it was still a great courtroom thriller. I enjoyed the MC and I look forward to going back to the beginning of his journey.
While these can be read as standalone novels, one twist in this one made me wish I read them in order since the main characters are recurring.

Another amazing Eddie Flynn book, this had me mentally going back and forth like a ping pong match trying to figure it out. It was cool to see Kate's perspective as well, it rounded out the story and fit the duality theme very well. The multi POV chapter also was so amazing. So while I did sort of guess who it was based on me reading too many thrillers, it didn't detract from this story even a little.

Eddie Flynn finds himself in the middle of a complex murder trial when he is hired by Sophia Avellino, one of the suspects for the brutal murder of her father Frank Avellino. The other suspect is Sophia's sister Alexandra. Both sisters called 911 blaming each other, and throughout the joint trial the prosecutor/defense lawyers must uncover who the actual killer is. This book has multiple POVs, including the killer herself as "She", Eddie, and Kate Brooks who is representing Alexandra. These POVS make the reading experience more immersive, seeing how things play out for each side. "She" is the definition of psychopath, killing those who risk her reveal throughout the trial and her chapters are quite disturbing. This book is very suspenseful, fast paced, and hard to put down. I gasped out loud multiple times and found myself thinking about it when I wasn't reading.
