Fifty Fifty

Now THAT’S what I call a great courtroom thriller!

I’ve been meaning to read the Eddie Flynn series forever and have a few of the earlier books on my Kindle, but this one (#5 in the series) called to me. I’ve been told they can be read out of order and I felt like taking a risk. For whatever it’s worth, I know I’ve missed backstory but I followed along just fine.

This was spectacular. I was obsessed from page one to the very end. I vacillated back and forth all book long about which sister murdered their father because Cavanagh did an excellent job spreading the clues out and making both sisters the plausible culprit. I loved not being sure.

I genuinely liked Eddie and so many of the other characters, so I am going to go back to book #1 right now and get myself caught up. If you like Harlan Coben or Linda Castillo, I think you’d love Steve Cavanagh. A little graphically gory, but a hell of a lot of fun. I can tell that I’m going to be a big fan of this series!
fast-paced

Loved it. Was pretty sure I figured it out around 75% but still twisty and kept me hooked.

Many thanks to Atria Books for the gifted physical copy of Fifty Fifty by Steve Cavanagh and to NetGalley for the gifted kindle copy. I enjoyed reading on both formats. All opinions are my own.

This was really good! It kept me guessing and had me stumped for a bit there. I love a book where you feel you can’t trust anyone and your mind changes 10 different times deciding the whodunnit of it all. The title was so fitting for this book because I too felt a fifty fifty split of who the culprit was.

A father murdered and his two daughters on trial for his murder. When the murder took place in his home a man Frank Avelino’s two daughters Sofia and Alexandra each called 911 from the home accusing the other of brutally murdering their father.

I love a procedural / legal thriller. I enjoyed seeing both of the lawyers points of views and how the case was built for each sister. It can go either way. Fifty fifty which daughter is it?

Such a fast-paced thriller and the depiction of law and the courtroom was great. The whole book I thought it was one sister but constantly questioned which one did it (which means it was a great book), and ultimately was shocked by the twist. I also liked how it had a touch of romance and you learned more about the characters outside of the courtroom instead of just the trial itself. I feel like everything was pieced together nicely (inside and outside the courtroom) and there were no plot holes. I don’t know how to explain it, but the author did a great job of swaying the reader emotionally to keep them guessing. Multiple POVs were interesting too, the characters and writing were great!! 5/5
