This book has such a cool premise and had SO much potential.

A badass mom goes to compete in extreme hide and seek on a haunted island and things start to go awry? It has all the makings of something that's spooky and fast paced and a so cool! However, the execution left a lot to be desired.

Many of the characters felt flat and very one dimensional. The "twist" at the end truly was not a twist at all. And there was way too much focus on things outside of the most interesting part of the plot.

Am I mad that I read it? Absolutely not. And, I even think this book might be a good fit for someone just wanting to get into thrillers. I think they might end up loving it if they don't know what to look for or just how truly mind blowing some thrillers can be.

But, for anyone who reads a lot of them, unfortunately this ended up just being predictable and slightly disappointing.

You know that section in People magazine where they have two celebrities wearing th same outfit and you vote "Who wore it best?"? Well, I feel like Close Your Eyes And Count to 10 by Lisa Unger and Everyone is Watching by Heather Gudenkauf are side by side, and Gudenkauf 'wore it best'. Maybe it's because I read that book instead of listening to the audio, but I really, really didn't like this one. I didn't like the characters, the plot/premise wound up being super similar to Gudenkauf's book, and quite frankly... it was boring to me. I didn't care about what happened to the characters, and the twist was predictable and tired. Ugh! What a disappointment!
