I have extremely mixed feelings about this book. I really liked the begging and ending, I didn’t care for the middle. The whole concept and set up was fantastic and the ending came full circle which I can appreciate. However, I didn’t connect or care much about the characters. Nothing had me routing for the relationship. The hero was also very pushy in my opinion. The constant “I miss you” “I need you here” sending her followers, making her feel guilty for putting her career first etc. it was all a bit much for me especially when we then had his perspective and he couldn’t decided how he felt about her. I understand that was a big part of this book, him grieving and coming to terms with his feelings but it was too much.

The lead up with the heroine trying to find the hero and the letters I loved and I kept wanting to read. Then the ending came full circle and while sad (as many of Sparks books are) made sense and I was satisfied. But the middle I didn’t care about or really want to keep reading. I felt that it was a lot of show and not tell for the relationship as well as being repetitive.

so romantic.

Just like every Sparks book it is sad and someone dies but it was good none the less.

Nicholas Sparks should be stoned for writing such sappy crap. It was all I could do to read the final pages of this terribly predictable and altogether ridiculous story line.

Good character development and story. Not quite as good as I expected however. B+

DID NOT FINISH

I read The Wedding by Sparks and totally enjoyed it, so I thought I'd read this one. It was a bit of a stretch to believe that someone would fall in love with a man who wrote a message in a bottle, but hey what ever. Then came rumblings of this rather intimate scene. I skipped several pages and continued on, but I found that I just didn't care what happened to these characters. They will probably get married or maybe the foreshadowing meant they won't. I don't care.

sehr trauriges aber trotzdem schönes Ende

I read this book as the author was recommended to me. Unfortunately i found the book extremely disappointing and felt that the book really dragged at times.

I found it slightly creepy that Theresa did not reveal her real reason for seeking Garrett, making her seem a bit like a stalker. I then found the rest of the book a bit of a disappointment and struggled to get hooked into the story. The ending I then found was rubbish and made me wish that I had stopped reading the book earlier. On the whole not a book I would recommend at all. X
