I really liked this book, although I do feel there could have been slightly more to it. Also, I cried so hard at the end.

This is a delightful story with a sad ending. I love Nicholas Sparks and this is actually my least favorite of all his books I've read so far. Still I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a touching love story. And if you haven't seen the movie -- don't. Its a pale comparison to the book.

This is by far my favourite book written by Nicholas Sparks. It tells a story of care, grief, adventure, and overcoming new relationship fears after past experiences. It shows hoe a woman gets her love life back in order after an ugly divorce and how a lonely man learns how to move on from his wife's death years before. It's a read that will make you smile, laugh, and cry.

So good! And then the ending which destroyed me.

as always - Nicholas Sparks knows how to touch the heart with his writing. this is a very good book and reading it again made me like it more. however; it still bothers me that Garrett had to die. i know it was essential to get across the true meaning of the story - but it's such a sad ending and makes me wish it would have been better. but life's not always full of happy endings...as this book proves. very sad, but very touching. if you want a good cry - you'll enjoy this!

I loved it but god it was a tearjerker at the end!! Ugh he is so famous for breaking hearts and he didn't let those hearts down this time!

A slow paced but beautiful story that had me sobbing big fat tears. This book, in typical Nicholas Sparks style is sweet, believable, emotional & lovely.

Tragic. Very tragic. Good. Subtle adaptation to film as well. Not Sparks' best, but a good novel.
