this is the only book i hadn't read from him since i saw the movie first and wanted to forget it a bit before i read the book...i liked it....though lately i enjoy Nicholas Sparks's heroes more than the heroines....maybe because i'm looking for a Garret myself, or maybe a Noah or a John Tyree....but like always anything by Mr Sparks is worth reading =)

I was all kinds of confused this book was still on my bookshelf unread. This book reminded me how much I Nicholas Sparks. I definitely experienced all of the emotions while reading this book.

This story was interesting. I liked the idea of finding a letter at the ocean then trying to find the author of the letter. Like all of Sparks books, it had me crying at the end.

Book #27 read in 2010

I remember seeing this movie awhile ago, so reading this was like deja vu. But It was good.

A tear-jerker to say the least. a masterfully written story about a women who falls in love with a man she's never met by reading his letters in bottles. A story of two lonely people coming together and learning that life is too short to live in despair. Has one graphic part that threw the story off my good list and would caution others against, but a beautiful story

Ficou bastante aquém do esperado.

Se gostam do autor, recomendo!

Book 2 of Spark-a-Thon.

Another solid 3.5. I like this about as much as The Notebook, but for different reasons. I find this to be a more "mature" story, meaning the characters are not teenagers which also means some of the things that happened in this story are quite silly.

As soon as Garrett told Theresa he was in love with her - AFTER KNOWING HER FOR 4 FREAKING DAYS - I was like "No, you're not."

Also, Theresa is kind of the worst. She stalks this poor guy after completely invading his privacy, doesn't tell him about finding the letters, starts a relationship with him, introduces him to her son, pushes him to move on from Catherine and be with her, and then dumps him...after all that. Like, give him a break! Maybe don't plan your whole life out with a guy you've known for two weeks and then be disappointed when he's not 100% sure and still grieving his dead wife?

Anyway, with that said, I really love Garrett's character. Despite some of the story flaws and overly flowery writing, these books always make me want to move to North Carolina so I can meet a handsome stranger on the beach and fall madly in love.

Like the last two Nicholas Sparks books I read (Safe Haven and A Walk to Remember), I bawled my eyes out. Normally, I don't enjoy reading books that make me cry, but I really felt a connection with this one. My boyfriend is a fan of Nicholas Sparks (he'd originally suggested my reading A Walk to Remember, Nights in Rodanthe and Message in a Bottle), and this one had been his favorite of all. And now I understand why. I really connected with Garrett, because, at times, I knew how he felt about the long distance thing with Theresa. I would definitely recommend this book if someone asked for a heart-breaking romance!
