I want to call foul on the character not knowing she’s autistic… but then… I had a student who—as far as I know—still doesn’t know…

I found the main character/narrator to be insufferable and unenjoyable. There wasn’t much character development despite fairly pressing motivations. The ending was extremely dissatisfactory. Still, it was a decently charming read and I enjoyed listening while doing other tasks.
I absolutely loved this book, Cassandra was so well portrayed and I found little pieces of myself within her character (I’m not diagnosed as on the spectrum). We, nearly, all have a favourite mug, a preferred style of clothing, an occasional questioning of the universe around us and a yearning to be loved for our true selves. Although not all of us would use time travel to unravel the complexities of dating, I’m pretty sure most of us would actually go straight to memorising the lottery numbers.
This was such a warm and engaging read, I enjoyed every minute and actually tried to make it last as long as possible! A definite recommend.

Fun time travel book with good autism representation. I liked the Greek mythology references.
This is somewhere between a 2 and a 4 for me... it probably would've been a 4 if not for the ending. Otherwise I enjoyed Cass as a character and the book definitely had some funny moments.
Spoiler
The ending totally ruined it. She had this big epiphany about not going back in time and accepting things the way they were and realize she was controlling things... only to go back and do this at the end! Art and Will totally could've ended up together. It's a funny moment but they could all totally get past it. Also, the "surprise" of her being autistic was not a surprise at all.
This is a difficult book for me to review, at least without giving anything away. It almost felt like this was two different books - the first 30 chapters, and then Chapters 31 to the end. Everything that was important in the first 3/4 of the book became background at best during the final 1/4 while the focus of the book completely shifted - and frankly, I enjoyed the last 100-ish pages much more. In fact, I would have loved a story where the first 100 pages were background/backstory, where the bulk of the book fleshed out the relationships presented in the last 100 pages of the book. I really REALLY wanted to get to know those people. As it was, the first 3/4 felt rather plodding, the end very rushed and the ending rather abrupt. There were a couple of threads that ran through the entire book. The mythology stuff was hit or miss with me - some interesting, some not. I did love Cassie's world of colors - in fact that's something else I wish had been developed a bit more.
So overall this landed at a 3-star read for me. The first 3/4 was OK with some good bits. For me the last 100 pages made the rest of the read worth the wait.
I think it's time for me to admit that I am a character-driven reader.

When I read the “Oona Out of Order” type synopsis (a book I adored), I just had to read this book. Cassandra in Reverse was a much different surprise. I enjoyed the story and the lesson time traveling was meant to teach her. Cassandra is a very complex character as well.
It took a minute to get into this one but then it had me laughing out loud and loving every minute.
(I also loved the authors note at the end)
Reading from the perspective of this semi unreliable narrator was quite the ride, and I was left wanting to know how the last rewind went! Where was the epilogue!
All in all a cute, sweet, pg 13 book, told from a very different perspective (as our leading lady was not like most!) give it a go if you want something a little different, but full of heart on your reading docket.

3.0 stars. I appreciate neurodivergent characters and actually quite liked this one as we have a lot in common. The story itself was a little convoluted but it was a fun summer read and I'll leave it at that.
