"Yet as the river moves, it stutters, and I do too." I hope many children will read this book and find comfort in its story.

A lovely narrative explaining how a boy struggles with stuttering. His dad helps him connect his dysfluency with the natural world, hence the title. This book will be a springboard for conversation about anyone who has felt "othered," marginalized, or different. The art is intimate and brings perspective to the story.

Another great read for school! The writing is poetic and resonant, and the impressionist-style illustrations give an atmospheric feel. Highly recommend!

Such a beautiful way to capture speech impediments, specifically stuttering. The simple language and beautiful pictures really illustrate how it can be hard to get the some words and sounds out. The analogy of ht author's stutter being like a river is lovely.
