Okay so I had been putting off reading this series for a while. It kept popping up in my facebook groups and looked interesting but I never really got the urge to read. But once I saw it was on kindle unlimited I thought eh lets give it a shot. And wow am I glad I did. This book seriously exceeded any expectations I thought I had!

Cassandra has been locked away in a cage and abused by her mother her entire life. Told that she is a dangerous monster and cannot be let out, Cass has never stopped fighting to be free. Until one day the door opens *is kicked down* and instead of her mom, a vampire and a panther she's never seen before walk in and set her free. Everything as she knew it changes in a moment. All Cass wants is to be free, but can she when these creatures want her to be some big weapon in a war she wants nothing to do with?

This book has everything a fantasy lover could want. There's creatures of every kind: vampires, fae, shifters, gods; magic, different worlds/realms, and some romance and steam. There's something for everyone here which I really enjoyed!

I also wanted to address the fact that Cass is only fifteen. I read a ton of bad reviews based on this fact alone. But she isn't human. She is not an adolescent but a powerful creature who reached maturity years before. She is fully grown and not a child. You can't read this thinking of her in human terms. As it's explained in the book, she is fully mature, and the other gods in the story reach maturity at the age of 2. While she isn't fully a god, we don't really know what she is, she is definitely no ordinary human so please don't disregard this book because she is more than human and should be understood under different rules. She is a woman, not a little girl.

A Court of Blood and Void is a seriously amazing story. I loved this book and cannot wait for book 2! Meg Xuemei X is a new author for me and definitely one I will look to for future books.

I have mixed feelings about this book. It was 100% entertaining and I enjoyed listening to it but Cass our main girl got on my nerves a little bit. She has been locked up her entire life. So she is understandably mad. But the problem I have with her is that she is SO mad and it makes her reckless and kind of dumb. She runs straight into danger, literally. She is also just mean to the guys that have been trying to help her. Her guys on the other hand, I like alot. They are fierce and sweet and I love them.

I am still looking forward to the next book. I am hoping that Cass grows up a little bit because I love the storyline so much!

Interesting beginning with lots of paranormal elements and creatures. Some of the language is awkward.

Cass is the best

I love Cass! She is the best! She takes no one’s s**t and is a total bada**. She has all these amazing powers and was locked up by her own mother. She suffered and was abused, but she came out the other side like the bad a** she is. She meets these 4 men. 2 of which broke her out of her prison. Cass is also led to believe that she is the only one who can defeat the Olympian gods that are destroying earth, the b**tards!

Read the book if you want to laugh out loud and hear about these amazing characters!

DNF
The female lead in this book was so awful, unlikable and just plain annoying that I couldn't finish it. There is absolutely no reason to root for her and half way through I was kind of just hoping one of the people trying to kill her would succeed.

My very first reverse harem YA read and it did not disappoint. Well, it really has some colorful words in it but oh well, the author did write that the book use explicit writings.
I really liked it since the main lead is badass and overpowered. How her mates care for her and protect her. Would recommend♡
