I have hopes the Netflix movie might actually be better than the book.

A rare occurrence where the movie is actually better than the book.

Could not stand how the author uses 20 words to describe one simple object. It got better in the second half but by that point I was over the writing.
Strong character development: No

Poor ending

Leave this book behind. I can’t believe I waited for this from the library since October. Over-written with endless and unnecessary descriptions that do not serve the story at all.

Was this published before it was finished? Totally incomplete as a novel.

The lines between the story and reality became disturbingly blurred as I read this book.

I’m not sure if I’d recommend this read if you’re struggling with anxiety related to the pandemic or the political events of these past few months.
