I enjoyed this! I loved the strangest to friends to lovers dynamic here, I loved the care for Bears culture, this book made me laugh out loud multiple times. The only reason the rating is a little lower for me is because it dragged in the middle and the conflict was so OBVIOUSLY solvable. I have to admit, however, that this is the first Jane Austen retelling that has made me actually want to go back and read the book.

DNF at 16% it felt jumbled and didn’t grab me, which is a must for me with romances/rom-coms. I couldn’t get a feel for the characters, too, and my Austen-loving mind kept trying to tie it back to the original with no luck.

I had such a fun time reading!! Right away it’s just so dang tender. Did I always understand the drama and did I feel like there were some threads I wanted to follow that got dropped? Yes. Did that take me out of it? Not at all.
