wow this story was so good. I heard many good things about this book and all of them are true. Pushing the Limits is an addictable read about two troubled teens who fall in love with each other. It's certainly an emotional read and it takes you back to that difficult teenage age. The author manages to cap the feelings and emotional of these teenagers perfectly.

Normally I avoid stories without fantasy elements in it, but lately I am trying more of these books and am actualy finding out there are some really good stories out there without fantasy in it. This book is one of those. The story is about two troubled teens, they have really big problems, even bigger than most teens have to deal with. They both have a difficult life and struggle to make the best of it. The story is mainly about how they deal with their problems and find love. And it's such a good story, it is also really believeable written. It written very realisticaly and I would almost believe is something that really happened. Also there is no love at first sight, no obvious an unbelieveable plot lines. It is very well written, believeable and totally enjoyable.

Further this book takes us on an emotional rollercoatser. I lived with the characters every moment. I even cried almost a few times, this books just tugs at my emotions. These characters don't have it easy and seeing everything develop is emotional, but also beautifull.

I really loved the characters. They feel so real, not perfect, but with all their flaws and good points. I felt for both of them and they both had their good points and bad points and when they are together they are just perfect. Also the side characters get enoguh attention to give us a sense of who they are, the side characters give more colour and depth to the world and they fit perfectly in the story.

I am really glad I picked up this book, it was so good and I ejoyed every second of it. It is not a light read and definitely has enough emotional moments, but this only makes the book better. It all feels so real and the story is believeable.

To conclude: I really liked this book, it is fast paced, believeable and an emotional read. I loved all the characters and side characters, they really are great. I never thought I would enjoy books without fantasy, but books like these prove me wrong. I loved it!

A bit of a trash book and I really didnt like how pushy Noah was. The whole time, I couldnt imagine Echo's scars too.

I just love how Echo and Noah needed each other in other to have a normal life... The way they care for each other sent my heart into overdrive This book is beyond amazing. I am in love. I can seat here and read it all over again.

I teared up. Ladies and gentlemen, I teared up while reading this one. If you know me you know I'm not a crier. It is so extremely rare for me to cry or tear up over a book. There are two I can name out of all the books I've read (Forbidden and Feed) and now Pushing The Limits just joined that list. This story is so powerful, so moving, so heartbreaking at times and you cannot help but fall for every word.

We start off with Echo Emerson who was in an accident... one she doesn't remember. She has scars all over her arms and she hides them because people look at her disgusted or make rumors about her. She went from miss popular to outcast after "the accident". Echo finally starts trying to go back to her old life, while meeting with a therapist to try to help her understand the accident. Then she meets Noah who is famous for his sexy, girl-loving, bad boy reputation. Noah, however, has issues of his own that he needs to figure out. So when Noah and Echo's worlds start to collide neither of them will expect the outcome.

This book. I honestly don't even know what to say. There were just too many things I loved about it. The first being the characters journeys. Echo and Noah started in such rough places in the beginning of the story, and yet by the end you can see them healing. You can see them making amends and being completely different people then who they were at the start. Pushing The Limits also shows us extremely complicated situations. Situations that no teenager should ever have to deal with... but these tragedies do happen and you have to find ways to keep going. Find people who love you, who believe in you because you should never have to go through these alone, no matter how strong of a person you are.

Noah Hutchins. You sexy, intense boy you. Noah's story killed me. Just killed me. The emotional torment he had to deal with just tore me to shreds. I can't imagine being in his shoes and fighting for what he does... I'm not sure how I'd be able to do it. He is a stronger boy than you can imagine... and for that reason, I cried for him. Then there's Echo. How would you feel having scars all over your body that you have no memory of receiving? To constantly look at yourself and feel ashamed, to feel as if you're constantly being judged. Echo's situation shows us a broken family life, a family life that a lot of people deal with (even though hers is way more extreme). One of the many things I loved about Echo, was her art aspect. Art is beautiful. I absolutely lost myself in both Noah and Echo's stories and I adored how Katie weaved their lives together.

Pushing The Limits is definitely one of the best books I've read this summer. It really shows you to appreciate the life you have. It shows you struggles and emotional torment. It shows you to trust in those who love you. It shows you that a lot of times good things can come from bad things. That no matter what hardships you're going through... to be strong. This book is amazing. It's so intense. So seductive. So beautifully written.

DID NOT FINISH

Eh.
I stopped a few chapters in. I could. Would not, finish reading it. No.

Pushing the limits, vad tycker jag om den?

Den är bra skriven och jag gillar att den hoppar mellan Echo och Noah. Å andra sidan känner jag att Noah emellanåt är lite "tjejig" i sin observationer. Men, men...

Another book that I got from my trip to BEA. I got this copy signed by McGarry which is pretty awesome, and I wish she lived closer to me so I could get my hardcover signed as well. I was a little confused about this book because for some reason I assumed that it was paranormal, but let me assure you that it is a contemporary teen book and, probably one of the most real.

I hit supersonic levels while reading this book because I could not stop squealing about the romance. Its been awhile since I've had a book that I didn't even realize I was reading until the wee hours of the morning. I couldn't stop reading, it wasn't that the book had all these cliff-hanger endings, I just couldn't wait to know what was going to happen to Noah and Echo next.

I loved that this book was such a real teen book. There was sex, there was cursing, there were real emotions. I liked that Noah and Echo's relationship came easy and I loved that we got to learn what happened to Echo as she learned what happened to her. Thats one thing that always drives me in books when the narrator knows whats happening before we do, and they always drop clues, I love how artfully some authors do it, but it makes me crazy!

I loved how protective Noah was and how his relationships all intertwined. His love for his foster siblings Isaiah and Beth and his devotion to protecting his brothers. He was devoted to Echo despite the challenges that they faced. Its hard to put into words how amazing they were for each other.

I was annoyed at times by Echo's desire for normalcy, but it was understandable. Her friends were so far less than understanding it was sick. Those girls didn't even deserve to be friends the way that they treated her because of the cuts on her arms. It was infuriating that because of who she liked (Noah) they decided that they couldn't talk to her. They were bitches, and I don't use that term lightly.

I loved how both Noah and Echo were their for each other and I loved the social worker that they both worked with because she really was on both their sides. I felt for Echo and her family as they worked through their recent problems. McGarry did a great job slowly showing us what happened to Echo and I admire her writing skill.

This is for sure a book to check out and I'm so glad that I picked this book up at BEA.

Umm...can I give this book more than 5 stars?
Ughhhhhh I love this book!!! Echo and Noah is the most perfect imperfect couple ever! I loved how it didn't just deal with their love story but also with their lives.

I thought Beth and Isaiah would've ended up together.. BETH'S BOOK IS COMING NEXT YEAR!
