I got this after hearing the author speak. First, if you ever get the chance, listen to Katie McGarry. She is a wonderful speaker and very personable. I enjoyed ever moment of her panel. As for the book, it's very clear she did a lot of research for this book, and I'm impressed for a lot of reasons. The book did get more sexual than I expected it to, it was not over the top as some teen books can be. The same is true of curse words. I'm not a fan of them, but she uses them in the book to good affect for certain characters.

I would recommend this book to any teenager struggling with psychiatric issues, who has grown up a bit "rough," or maybe even just having a tough year. It is a good read.

Wow. I definitely did not think I was going to love this as much as I did!

Pushing the Limits was a story I absolutely loved reading, I fell in love with Echo and Noah almost instantly (more Noah than Echo actually). At first it may seem kind of cliche: two broken teenagers struggling with their problems and they use each other to get through their problems and consequently fall in love, but there are deeper sub-plots to this book.

Echo: Echo is going through counselling to get through the problems she is dealing with but problems she doesn't even know about or understand. She has scars on her arms and how they got there is unknown to her as she has suppressed the memories. Echo is one of the reasons why I didn't rate this book 5 stars. The whole thing with her scars seemed quite melodramatic and it took the majority of the book to get an answer and the answer was almost anti-climatic as when she found out she seemed to get over it incredibly quickly. I would of loved to have read more scenes with Echo and her mother and see if/how they could resolve their problems. Don't even get me started on the whole thing with her art, too melodramatic for my liking.

Noah: Ahh Noah, I love you. One of my favourite parts of the book was the relationship between Noah and his brothers. For me, it was kind of the first time we saw the vulnerability in Noah and see how he dealt with them. The scene where one of his brothers reads out a story about Noah had me reaching for the tissues, it was so sweet.

The book is written is both of the character's POVs which is so well thought out and each POV is put in at the perfect moment. The romance side to this novel is slow and steady which is perfect for what they are going through.
A few frustrating moments but all in all, a lovely read.

Absolutely wow.

Usually I am one to shy away from these books and rarely pick them up. I had this particular one on my Kindle and decided I was in the mood to read it. I am very glad that I did. I was going back and forth on whether I should give this book a 4.80 or 5, and the 5 obviously won. This book was really emotional and though I did not cry, it made me tear up. Definitely enjoyed this book and I am glad that I read it!

I never read romance books, but it was free and I needed something to read on the plane and this was pleasantly surprising. Full, complex characters and a sharp story make this more than just a teen romance novel. Definitely worth the read.
