Gideon is the Augustus Waters. Without the sad part.

Cute

Ladies and gentlemen, she’s done it again.

I loved this book!

Emma Mills has such an energetic way of telling her stories. This book in particular is my favourite of hers so far as I connected so much to the rehearsal process and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

It was also so refreshing to read a book with a male love interest that is confident and doesn't come off as cocky or arrogant. It makes the relationship feel more authentic and healthy.

We love female friendships, wholesome, loved the characters. Felt very fleshed out despite bing short.

Emma Mills writes the best YA fiction

HOW DOES SHE DO IT??? How does Emma Mills know exactly the way to make my heart soar when I finish her books? I once again devoured her book in one day and fell completely in love with the story and characters. The story has so many different relationship dynamics and so many lovable characters, I loved it so much. I don’t even know what words can convey how happy my heart feels right now. 5/5 a+ gold star heck yes

3.5 stars

Aw this was super cute and fun. I can't say I absolutely loved the romance or anything but I really liked Claudia's relationship with Iris and her siblings and it was overall a really fun time 👍

4.5 stars.

This book was fantastic. I’ve been in a reading slump lately and it was so refreshing to finally so obsessed with a book that I needed to finish it in one sitting.

The characters and relationships were so real and believable in this book. It was all so sweet and FUNNY and just everything. Love all of them so much.

This book is a real cuteness overload and I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve last gotten so involved in the characters’ life.

I liked the obvious reference to the 1D fandom (is it pretentious to assume this was heavily inspired by /that/ fandom in particular *coughs* Japan Kenji *coughs* I see u) and the fact that the author didn’t try to tone it down to make it seem less over the top (we do be like that lol I’ve got my fair share of knowledge on intense fangirling) but somehow it’s not cringy? Usually a simple sms in book form gives me the shivers but the full breakdown over a song release felt pretty well-written to me. Or relatable? But you can’t relate to something that’s badly-written anyways so there’s that.

The odd thing for me though is that Gideon felt like every version of Harry Styles in AO3. Not necessarily a bad thing, but similarities were funny.

Overall just a really nice feel-good book where everything could’ve been so cliche but it’s not.
