3.5/5 stars. I found the storyline to be very good, but personally I thought some of the character development and plot development was lacking in some spots.
I accidentally read this in one sitting, because it’s really good.
Also shoutout Emma Mills for naming one of the main characters after an obscure character from Harry Potter.

i don't even know what happened here but i'm so here for it
i can't stop crying and it's the best feeling in the world
-----------------------
this book has everything i wanted and needed.
- girls loving other girls
- a healthy friendship between girls
- a good sibling dynamic (i mean, alex and claude and julia and claude; amazing)
- shakespeare & video games (i didn't need the whole plot of battle quest, but it was a nice detail that was important throughout the whole book!)
- a wonderful friendship between boys (seriously, gideon and noah's relationship make me cry, they love each other so so much)
- and of course, GIDEON PREWITT, the most precious, most caring, goofiest and just in general, most wonderful person on earth, i love him with all i can offer, i would DIE for him
(v eloquent review, wow)

What a sweet book, with the most charming group of characters! And the narrator was fantastic.
I loved everything about this. The fact that Iris was obsessed with a boyband that is definitely based off One Direction made me happy beyond belief and the way she talked about them reminds me so much of me. This book was so funny and gave me literal butterflies. UGH I CAN'T HANDLE THE CUTENESS AND PERFECTION THAT THIS BOOK WAS!!!!

I really liked this book! I loved the characters and the way they were depicted. For some reason, I was a bit confused by the story at first, but that might be because I read too many of Emma Mills’s novels in a row and I was mixing them up.
It is difficult to describe why this book literally made tears come out of my eyes. Nothing really “sad” happens. I wish I could blame it on the fact that I stayed up after midnight reading it, and maybe that’s part of it. Mostly I think it’s because the idea of Claudia’s “I’m someone people feel regular about” mentality struck such a deep embedded cord with me. And all the emotions felt real. This book wasn’t perfect. But am I giving a book about boy bands, making new friends, high school plays, and mmorpgs a five star rating anyway because of my weirdly deep emotional reaction? Hell yes I am.
