I read my first Emma Mills' book way back in 2015. I enjoyed it a lot and I meant to read another one by Emma but I got distracted and never did. When I decided to do my new blog feature, New to Me, and I saw an Emma Mills book in the mix I was excited. It was about time I read one of the books I hers I owned and by chance it ended up being the first one selected. I am happy to say to all those that voted and the person that suggested it...BRAVO! I loved it so so much!!!

Foolish Hearts is about Claudia, a girl that is not really cool with being seen or cool with change. When she accidentally witnesses a break-up, not being seen is suddenly not an option for her anymore. Suddenly she is part of the theater crew that is putting on A Midsummer Night's Dream with the boys' school next door. Soon people know who Claudia is and she is making friends and doing things she had never done before, including catching the eye of an adorable boy. But when things change Claudia gets scared and she has to decide what she is really afraid of, being seen or not being seen.

It really is hard to say what I loved most about this (Gideon aside). I don't know if it was the way the story was told, I don't know if it was the characters, particularly Claudia, or the fact that I completely related to Claudia. I 100% everything she did and felt and how it was so hard to understand that this new group of people where actually interested in her and wanted to be her friend. Maybe it was a combination of all of it that just made me fall so head over heels in love with this book. Everything just worked so well together. And it was so great to see Claudia change and grow and learn that different isn't always bad.

Like I said in the beginning of my review, I enjoyed the first Mills' book I read, but the second...I LOVED! A must read for everyone. I swear you won't be sorry, and you will most likely fall in love with the adorable Gideon like I did.

Foolish Hearts has managed to become one of my favorite books of the year. I received a copy from the lovely Julia for Christmas 2017 and I finally read it in June. I absolutely adored every bit of this book. The characters were so well written and their stories were so compelling. There were so many great elements to this book. I really do not think I found anything particularly wrong with this book.

I absolutely adored the characters in this story. I loved her friendships and the friendships that developed throughout the story. It was so much fun to see the characters grow and change. There was a lovely bromance, a beautifully done sibling relationship, and a wonderful romantic relationship that developed.

Claudia was such a great character. She was flawed and made some annoying/bad choices, but she was so sweet and realistic. Gideon was such a fun character too. I absolutely adored his humor. He is such a sweetie pie. I could read about Gideon forever. The romance that surrounds Gideon is so wholesome and adorable. I couldn't get enough of the romance in this book.

The romance was, as I said, so wholesome and good. It wasn't an annoying insta-love situation. It built up really naturally and sweetly. It was a wholesome slow burn situation.

The nerdy characters and fandom culture is so nicely done. There's such a beautiful message about acceptance and friendship and it will really warm your heart. It's so beautifully fluffy and fun. I recommend it to everyone. If you love Emma Mills' books, but you haven't picked up Foolish Hearts; you should definitely pick it up!

Spoiler When Claudia and her BFF had their fight they talk about how Claud reacts to situations because she is empathetic and thinks of how things affect others. To empathize. Rather than her first instinct to figure out how to fix it. I relate to that so much. I am such an emotional and empathetic person. Most think I’m just a drama queen but I literally just feel things so passionately and want to relate to people in order to understand them. I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

“It just feels like..." Her voice small. "Sometimes it just feels like I'm faking."
"Maybe everyone feels that way.”

3.5/5 stars. I loved this book (personally it depends on the book If 3/3.5 stars means the book is good or not). Oh my goshhh! And the person who had more character development I would say is Iris. She was so mean but then became one of my favorite characters. Butttttt I’m a little upset that there wasn’t much between Claudia and Gideon. I mean yeah there was the fact that they liked each other but I feel like there was no chemistry and no steaminess. I just personally prefer that. I totally needed to read this though. I didn’t realize how much I needed to read a Contemporary YA until I started this book.

this book was like a nice warm hug in the middle of a rainstorm

that was so cute, thank you for my life.

Honestly it’s a pretty average read but it made me feel all giddy and happy the last 50 pages. I need a Gideon in my life lol
