Anne of Green Gables is one of those books that stands the test of time and bears rereading over and over again. Until I read The Blue Castle by the same author, Anne Shirley was the literary character I related to the most. She is lovable, relatable, and at the beginning adorable. She makes mistakes but she learns from them; she loves freely and deeply unless you tease her about her hair. She is the sort of person whom I should like to know if she were real!

I picked up this book with the following motivation:
“ahhh I guess I still want to read this someday, so I might as well while I’m still in the right mood after Little Women”

But MAN!! Was I in for a surprise!

I love this book, it made me smile and feel so many feelings. I can see me rereading this book many times in the future.
I think it might even be a new favourite ❤️

Anne reminds me of playing with my childhood friend while making up the wildest stories. I think and hope she might think of us as kindred spirits
