It was a detailed and conversational look at the history of sex, kink, and the historical figures that participated. Some figures were a little shocking, but that's part of the fun. I listened to the audiobook, which the author read. It felt like I was listening to her TikTok stories that drew me to getting her book.

It's funny- a book with sex I can read quickly. But a book about the history of sex? It takes a bit longer to read. This book is incredibly sense, with tons of history, statistics, and personal anecdotes
Kinky History was a fantastic read! I loved the format - the story being told as if the reader is a guest at a dinner party, and joined by all the people who influenced the cultural idea of sex.
It's absolutely fascinating that the reason we have silicone based sex toys is because a man, who was paralyzed, wanted to be able to engage in sex with his partner. I would have loved to read more about that.
