4 years, 11,916 pages and 14 books, and I am so sad it is over! Bless Brandon Sanderson for finishing strong. It was a wild, wonderful ride. 🎉

As many reviewers have previously said, I can't believe I finally made it to this point. I don't really know what to say, aside from a few very general thoughts. Though I didn't love this book as an individual installment (apparently I don't like reading 1000 pages of pure battle; it's exhausting), I do think it is a generally satisfying conclusion to an epic, 14-book fantasy series that took me three years of my life to read. So even though I would rank probably all but maybe one other WoT book ahead of this one in terms of personal enjoyment, I can't say I'm unhappy with how the story itself wrapped up. The last line had me in tears, it was so good. A Memory of Light is not a personal favorite, but the series as a whole is.

Addendum: It's been nearly two months since finishing this book, and the more I've thought about it the more I've realized I'm quite dissatisfied with Rand's final showdown with the Dark One, and equally dissatisfied with the parts that
Moiraine and Nynaeve
played to help him. This is just personal preference, as I know many people absolutely love this part of the book. On the other hand, Egwene, who started off as one of my least favorite characters at the beginning, is a favorite by the end, and I think she has the single greatest character arc in the series. So you win some, you lose some.

I started this journey on February, this year. And oh boy was it a journey! I have been elated, frustrated, sad, and all at the same time. And now it's the end. Or an end.

The whole book is a long drawn battle, which the readers were promised for since the very beginning. The chapter titled Last Battle is frickin 220 pages! Sometimes (for very brief moments) it just got a little too much battle. But I guess that's battle fatigue and that's exactly what Sanderson was going for!

The ending itself was...well I am not sure! Sometimes it feels perfect, and then sometimes I'm not so sure. Need some more time to process it I guess.

Also felt like we needed a little bit more in terms of the epilogue. After all this series was about its characters (which there are plenty of).
SpoilerAnd after so many deaths during the last battle, we don't get any mention of them at all? Seriously?! Aviendha killed Rhuarc (and justified it to herself), but we don't get anything from Amys? Faile's parents are dead, and they're mentioned just once?! Also what was the point of the entire Elayne being pregnat thing, other than some silly plot points? I mean thank the light the kids weren't born - can't stand kids - but the pregnancy was forgotten whenever it was inconvenient and then it came back when she needs to channel. Bah!

But after some grumbling and braid-tugging (if I had braids), I can say that I loved it. I loved the journey. And I'll miss being in that world.

The wheel turns...
