I liked this book but it didn't blow me away. I liked the setup of the story but the way it all played out was just eh to me.

The Rule Book is exactly the kind of book that I love. I even told my husband after reading the summary that it would be exactly my kind of book. My reasoning? This book would have made a perfect romantic comedy movie. A great mixture of sweet, awkward, and heart-warming. I don't even know which of the main characters I liked better.

Lainey was a just out of college, twenty-four year old who instead of going out and shopping or partying with her friends, took a job at a media firm (can I have a job where I just spend all day on social media?) in a new city just so she could pay her mother's medical bills.

Brogan was the CEO of Starr Media, Lainey's boss, and according to Brogan's assistant, the Antichrist. In all actuality he was just a young CEO trying to keep his company afloat while dealing with his serious trust issues. Not surprising when you meet his dad. [Slash owner of a small horse (ie: great dane) named Bruce.]

Both of the main characters have a parent out of the picture and both seem to find relationships to be daunting, but it's the trials and tribulations that make the book worth the read. Not to mention Lainey's ability to completely go against all 700+ of the company's rules. You know things are going to go awry when the company has a strict policy against eating garlic while working, and a long list of words that one should never use when posting on their client's accounts.

This was light, entertaining and funny I really, really enjoyed it.

Started off cute and fun, but got kind of dumb towards the end.
