I really enjoyed this one. Blackwood has a great voice. I laughed more than once reading this book which is rare for me. I enjoyed her characters; both the main couple and the supporting characters. I do wish we'd had Brogan's perspective as well as Lainey's, but I still felt like he was well-developed. The ending felt a little rushed to me; a lot was resolved in a few pages. Overall, I really enjoyed this one and it's going to be one that I mention to romance reader friends as a must read.

I already knew The Rule Book was excellent, but the audiobook brings another awesome layer. I wish Alex McKenna's character voice for Brogan had been a little less of a whisper and more of a gravel, but other than that it was perfect. Loved listening to this!

Lainey Taylor isn't sure she has landed the dream job he hoped, especially after reading the 300 page rule book. No garlic during lunch..that could be a deal breaker. However, Lainey perseveres and decides to give it her all. However, her well thought out intentions ends up with her calling her boss the Antichrist, not knowing who he is and a few other major blunders that he happens to catch her at along the way.

Brogan Starr, CEO of Star Media has a set of rules in place because he wants his company to be the best it can be. Lainey has caught his interest but he has rules for a reason and one line he does not want to cross is dating an employee. When Lainey takes over walking his dog they form a friendship and it is only a matter of time before that builds into something more. Can there be a happily ever after when they break the rules?

This was so funny. I loved this book, a real treat. Lainey is this quirky girl who has a way of putting her foot in her mouth. Brogan has a an air of broody throw in a touch of sexy, you have a fantastic hero. Definitely checking out more from this author.

The blurb hooked me. What can I say? I'm a sucker for office romances. But this book just had one too many missing pieces. Would have loved to have the male MCs POV, and instead had to rely on the female MC who had one too many internal monologues.

The review by Jo sums up exactly what I thought about this book.

I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I loved this clever, laugh out loud romance.

Lainey has moved to the city to her first proper job, since finishing her MBA, as Second Assistant to the CRO of Starr Media, Brogan Starr. The First Assistant, Jackson, is a nightmare: unhelpful; back-stabbing; and power-mad. Also Lainey can't seem to stop saying and doing the stupidest things in front of Brogan - it all started when she called him the Antichrist to his face!

There are slobbery dogs to be walked, Chanel cardigans to be rescued from violent lifts and Twitter disasters to fix. Oh and rules, lots and lots of rules.

Recommended for anyone who loves a smoking hot billionaire CEO and his hapless assistant. This is my first book by this author but I will definitely look for more, she has a fresh voice and a great sense of humour.

Bumped for release day.

It was...cute

I really enjoyed the author's humor when reading this book. The lead character, Laney was sarcastic and had an eternal case of foot-in-mouth syndrome. The tension developed between Laney and Brogan was exciting, however I felt a but let down with the culmination of sed tension. The sex scene, because there was really only one, was underdeveloped. Side note, why did Brogan keep Jackson around? It isn't really pertinent, but it really bugged me through the entire book.

I'm all for cheesy romance, but this book was lacking. Brogan's words went from 0 to 100 in a heartbeat, but there was no build up of emotions or actions throughout the plot. I didn't feel anything he said, even when he made a grand gesture.

I absolutely loved this book, I loved the references to Gilmore Girls, Mean Girls, The Breakfast Club etc.
I loved the main characters, and her best friend Zoey, the twist in the end had me so shocked! Wasn't who I suspected at all!!!
