Loved the wedding vibes and the familial bonds. Enjoyed the music aspect of the storyline. Found the relationship cute.

In the spirit of trying not to be a major hater, I won't go into serious detail but will leave you with this one sentence thought by our MC that I cannot erase from my mind: "I had to be a Frozen character in the moment and just...let it go. "

In what world would a 17-year-old girl reference a Disney movie in their internal dialogue? I feel like YA dialogue can be so hit or miss, and this book was the latter. There are many more examples, but again trying not to be a #hater.

This book was everything I wanted it to be and more! Patel brought to life culture, food, fashion, and music with her words - something that any reader knows is not easy to do. The romance and the family dynamics were sweet and funny. You will feel like a part of their desi wedding festivities and you will fall in love with Zuri, Naveen and their families and friends.
