This was another amazing book - I love this writer and this series so much. I wish there was more…

My favorite part of this series is how much it expands and deepens the world of Avatar. There were lots of cool examples of, “this is the culture of this nation.” A lot of those moments could then be connected directly to something that happened in the show. I really got o kick out of it every time it happened.

I think way better than the first and also REALLY kicked it into gear around the second half, the writing just kind of bossed up in a way it hadn’t previously!

I read this thinking I will know more about Kyoshi and how she becomes the avatar she is but this book feel like it’s lacking and did not really show her character well or cover her story fully. Seems like the plot this time was aimless, making me wonder what’s the point of adding the firelord story. As a 2nd book, it didn’t feel like an add on but more like a round 2 of Kyoshi’s story.
