A great second chapter about the avatar Kyoshi that followed The Rise of Kyoshi. It explained a lot about Kyoshi’s life, her friends and the previous avatars and it sort of sets up the path and story that later on continues with the rest of Kyoshi’s life, the avatar world and lore that we know. I will immediately continue with the book about the life of the avatar Yangchen. This book was so fun to read, I strongly recommend this book series!

Definitely worse than the first one, but I still enjoyed it. The plot and character arcs were a little weaker and more contrived this time around. It also felt a little incomplete. I feel like there were some loose ends and development that still needed to happen, but just didn't. I would have liked to see a bit more development for Kyoshi, and for more time with Kuruk. I thought her connection to Kuruk was going to be the focus of the story and it felt like it was supposed to be, but it just kinda was thrown in there at the end.
