This might be my favorite yet. Very complicated plot, ex-husband & continuing jerk Dickie Orr reappears, Joyce is back and as hilariously bitchy as ever, Ranger still as sexy as ever, ditto Joe.

So much good stuff here, and kept me going to the last page.

Same setup, different number. If you like this series, this is enjoyable enough for a rainy day. No heavy lifting on the plot, which you will forget anyway as soon as you flip the last page. Sort of the comfort food of mystery novels.

If you love a quick read, quirky characters, and constant action delivered light-heartedly yet vividly, and I do, you'll love the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich. I feel as if I could almost go to the "Burg" in Trenton NJ and know my way around. Where to get the best donuts, the bad side of town, the RangeMan Offices.
This book delivers. The plot is far-fetched and the disasters visited upon the heroine are too constant to be believed, but it's all forgivable because it's so much fun to read. Unbeknownst to her, Stephanie is (was, actually, but only briefly) in the possession of a certain key card that is worth 40 million dollars. She doesn't know it, and in fact she lost the key pretty much as soon as she had it, but the bad guys know. Frenetic activity ensues.
There's no real suspense; the story is being told by Stephanie so you know she came out alive and well. Likewise, in all of the Plum novels I've read so far (I'm not anal about reading them in order), all of her loved ones and a few not-so loved ones survive. A good time is had by all.

I go into these books knowing that they follow a formula and I'm okay with that. I don't expect much more than that and while I enjoy some more than others, if they make me laugh out loud, then I'm okay with that. This one made me laugh several times. These characters are just so outrageous that I can't help but laugh out loud. That being said, Stephanie seriously needs to just pick Morelli and be friends with Ranger. She crosses the line one too many times with Ranger and it ahs drug on long enough. They seem like they would be better as friends anyways, whereas, I can see her marrying Joe, if she would finally settle down. My other gripe with this book, is Stephanie seriously needs to kick Joyce's ass. I mean, how much do you put up with from the woman who slept with your husband. Seriously...knock the bitch out. She got away with way too much in this book. I wanted to see her skanky ass go down. But, all in all, a funny read.

Even though the broad details are about the same in every book, the little details are what makes each one unique. Laughs upon laughs are given to us through each book.

I was not as impressed with this book as the rest. It was long, not as funny and anti-climactic. Still the same old reliable characters, just off from Evanovich's usual story telling.

A fun read. A bit formulaic and a touch sloppy (some of the continuity is a bit off), but overall lots of fun characters and an interesting plot.

If you read the first 12, then you know what to expect. On again, off again, on again love interests, silly antics from Grandma Mazur, and the indestructible Buick as well as the other regular characters.

There were some dinner table scenes that actually had me laughing out loud.

I needed some light reading, and this fit the bill perfectly.

Gotta love those times when you read an entire book in a day :) Stephanie Plum does not disappoint on the ridiculous situations she gets herself into.

Stephanie is baaaaack…and she bring a whole new set of problems and hilarious situations with her. I love the fact that we get a little more Ranger (yummo!) in this installment, but it seems like Evanovich can really only breathe life in to one man at a time, as Joe seemed flat . It did have its moments where I was laughing out loud, but I think Twelve Sharp was funnier. I am anxiously awaiting yet to be titled #14.
