I loved this book, fast and funny like all the other books. Loved that their was tons of Ranger iin this one.

Ahhhh Stephanie Plum, what to do with her?
Another tale of comedy, drama, mystery and good old fashioned New Jersey living. What can I say, I loved it. Not much to add to a review because I don't read these for the plots, I read them for the journey and once again found myself flying through the books, laughing my ass off, loving the characters and wishing I still lived in Jersey. Really good book.

I'd give this book a rating of 3.5 rather than three, to be honest. I've been a little harsh about the series. Quite frankly, I still find the books to be entertaining. Characters are still rich in personality and nothing ever seems very contradictory to me. I really find them a joy and I'm kind of sad to be nearly done with what's been published so far!

That said, this is another instance where I feel I'm missing a piece or two of the pineapple upside-down cake (which I don't even like). There are references to past events that I'm certain take place in the between-official-books stories, and I just don't have them. Call me lazy, but it just makes life easier to follow the number pattern of the series itself.

And I am still looking forward to cracking open the next book tomorrow morning :)

2.5 stars. Stephanie's ex-husband has been murdered and she is the prime suspect! There was a heavy dose of Joyce Barnhart surrounding this underwhelming main plot. Grandma Mazur saves this installment with her characteristic hilarity- and even gets herself a boyfriend!

I really got sucked into this one. I wish Morelli or Ranger had beat up Dickie. I can hope for the future! I thought Steph had good instincts.

8/29/20: I had completely forgotten this book and it was a joy to read again.
