Meh.

An easy, enjoyable and quick read. I loved the author's sense of humor and wit, and the story had many good plot twists (not sure I loved the ending but it was probably more realistic than life where things never all work out perfectly!)
inspiring lighthearted sad fast-paced
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

Cute. A different kind of chick lit.

This is a great book. After reading the back of the book I thought it would be really sad, but it was light-hearted, funny, and a fast book to read. Katelyn, you would like this one.

This was a bookclub choice.

Note to author: "average" and "mean" are the same thing.
emotional funny reflective medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix

34-year-old June offers 24-year-old, newly thin Marissa a ride home from a weight-watchers meeting. On the way home, they are in a car accident and Marissa is killed. June finds a list in Marissa’ purse outlining 25 things Marissa wanted to do before turning 25. After meeting Marissa’s good-looking brother at the cemetery, June decides to do all the things on Marissa’s list. Some of the things are really dumb – go braless, kiss a stranger, but June tries to follow through and complete them all. In the process, she gets a “little sister”, loses a bitchy boss and maybe discovers a few things about herself. I found June frustrating, there was really nothing that drew me to her. I thought June should have been inspired to make her own list instead of randomly following through the list of someone she didn’t even know and who was 10 years younger. Why did she feel the need to take Marissa’s mother and grandmother to see Wayne Newton, and why would they go? And why would “get a massage” be such a trial? This was a quick and easy (read in one weekend while ill)and ultimately forgettable read.

its light and fun.
