After the disaster of a play that [b:The Taming of the Shrew|47021|The Taming of the Shrew|William Shakespeare|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1327935253s/47021.jpg|3152341] was, I decided to catch up on my Shakespeare group's January reading of The Comedy of Errors before March came and another play came up to read.

I tried so hard to finish this play but it was trivial, the characters weak without much depth; all in all, the whole play seemed to be characters being harsh and cruel to man with mental health issues which really irked me and made it a struggle to get through.

I really didn't enjoy this play at all - save for one passage - and the whole thing just felt like a waste of time. I really wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Give this play a miss and read some of Shakespeare's sonnets instead.

Prior to reading this play, I had mostly read some of Shakespeare's more famous works. I believe this is one of his earlier plays, which actually makes a lot of sense. The main thing that stuck out to me from this is that most of the lines RHYME. I'm okay with a little bit of rhyme, but to the extent of this play, it was kind of weird to be honest. I think it made the actual sentences more difficult to understand. Not my favorite, but certainly interesting. The plot itself is an extremely unrealistic, albeit funny, story of mistaken identities. Two identical twin brothers who happen to have identical twin brother servants, get separated from each other as infants. When one brother and his servant reach the town where the other ones reside, it causes lots of confusion!:)

Overall, I would say this was a funny read, but nowhere near Shakespeare's masterpieces. When you're expecting Hamlet, The Comedy of Errors just doesn't quite cut it.

confusing :( but ily Adriana u will always be iconic!
