getting closer to figuring out what is so special about nick other than he may or may not end up being the ultimate evil. good books but takes awhile in each one to pick up. like the characters and their personalities; especially nicks.
I was surprisingly bored with this one. I could easily pick it up and put it down which is unusual when I read Ms. Kenyon's books. Normally we're well into a series before we get a "meh" installment. I guess I was just expecting more. What was learned was definitely interesting and made me look forward to the next book but there wasn't a whole lot of action. Outside of him getting gagged and shoved in a locker by Caleb while he fought a Fringe Guard, the plot was mostly cerebral. Nick is a warrior at heart, not a detective (though he's truly brilliant). If it weren't for some important plot points in the series, I'd totally suggest skipping this one.
This series is one that I still have trouble putting down. Book one had a bit of a slow start, but this one jumps right back in to where the story left off. Although the book is about mystical creatures and demons, it's also just about a boy and how he has to grow up just a little bit differently than the rest. I really enjoyed it and look forward to book 3.

I am loving the Chronicles of Nick. Any time I get more Kyrian is good, and young Nick is so fun and sarcastic. This is the Nick I love, not current Nick. I really hope this series is able to right the wrongs of the original series. Cannot wait to read more!
Does this effect any of the the DH books, will Nick find out who Ambrose is? Will this change his future and Ambrose?
