I liked it when I started it -- even laughed out loud. But then it just bogged down.  I liked the opening gambit and then it turned into a completely different book that seemed sort of trite and cheesy to me and an ending that just didn't really say anything at all. I just sort of ended up disappointed.

Well, g*ddamn. Somehow ALL the notes and NO notes. Just one question—have you ever just asked yourself what’s the hell it’s all for? Go ahead, pretend you’d answer “no, not really” if I asked you this in person—but when you’re feeling like you want someone to understand that feeling, to feel as if they cracked open your skull and read your brain like some close-captioned movie, pick this book up.

A mediocre guy who’s spent a lifetime burying his wounds and then capsizes his career in a drunken stupor. While a nice message, LIVE, LIVE FULLY!!! The overall narrative and especially the protagonist just didn’t rock my world. 

This would work better as a short story something for a magazine.
