3.75⭐This story was a little light in the plot twists compared to Freida's other works. However, given my fascination with neurobiology this book was a treat. McFadden did a great job of presenting terminology and symptoms of a traumatic brain injury from the victims pov. I will say that Charly (the MC) being so down on herself 24/7, even before her injury is infuriating....she is a successful Doctor and has done well to build her own life....yet even when good things happen to her she is the first to degrade herself ... which can be how some ppl with low self esteem or depression think, it's just hard to take when you see how many great attributes she has and is undeserving of such negativity. That "rooting for the underdog" did keep me reading when there was lack of dramatic twists.

Not the best, not her worst. I liked the added love interest, but I’ve also been on a romance kick lately, so I could see how that would annoy some people.
I kinda saw the “twist” coming a mile away.
