Read this as part of a book challenge and because I liked George Takei's book They Called Us Enemy. This book had a lot of similarities, with the big difference being that the main character experienced a "Magic Tree House" type situation where she was displaced in time and got to experience what the concentration camps were really like by living through it herself.
It isn't a subject I've studied, but it's truly horrifying and should never have happened. It is a piece of history that needs to be taught and remembered.
Because if we forget, history tends to repeat itself.

This was a powerful read. The art was very well done, both in terms of the design and color palette for different characters (i.e. their clothing) and places, as well as the use of panels or pages without words to convey characters' emotions and events. I liked the use of the time/memory slip concept and how the author tied it into generational trauma and resistance. Highly recommended.
