I thought the first three novellas were alright. They gave great insights into Celaena’s character, but at times I found it hard to really care about the plot. However, I enjoyed the last two novellas much more. I just wish more time had been spent on Celaena’s relationship with Sam and with Arobynn. I’m excited to see how her relationships will evolve throughout the series.

This is my least favorite book of the series. After reading it in a different order this time, I think it should be read first. I feel like we needed more relationship development for us to fall more in love to understand the way Celaena feels.

kinda boring- a build up to what’s to come. made me tear up a little at the end there but that was to be expected. she’s so young.
